What are the advantages?
Cachapuz is an Authorised Centre for the carrying out Conformity Assessment on the Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments (NAWI) it puts on the market and whose purpose and intended use is commercial transactions, through Module D granted to Società Cooperativa Bilanciai, in Italy, in accordance with Directive 2014/31/EU, being able to seal said equipment and affixing the CE marking and supplementary metrology marking, with subsequent delivery of the EU Declaration of Conformity.
The Directive aims at ‘protecting the public against incorrect results of weighing operations by means of non-automatic weighing instruments when used for certain categories of applications’. It also aims to ‘ensure a high level of protection of the public interests covered by this Directive and to ensure fair competition in the Union market’.
According to this Directive, conformity assessment is ‘the process demonstrating whether the essential requirements of this Directive relating to an instrument have been fulfilled’. As a manufacturer, and approved centre, Cachapuz complies with the Directive’s requirements, and ensures and declares that the NAWI are in conformity with the approved types described in the EC type-examination certificates.
The EC marking and supplementary metrology marking affixed to the NAWI mark the instrument’s conformity and ‘are the visible consequence of a whole process comprising conformity assessment in a broad sense’.
