For the fourth consecutive time, Cachapuz sponsors the “Semana Santa (Holy Week)” event in Braga

5 March, 2014

Semana Santa (Holy Week)” in Braga is considered one of the most important events of the year, as well as one of the main tourist attractions of the city. Of all the ones taking place in Portugal, Braga is the most striking, attractive and famous for continually wanting to convey a testimony of faith inherited from its ancestors. Since November 2011 this event is officially of “Declared Interest for Tourism”.

Between March, the 5th and April, the 20th, there will a wide range of cultural and religious events such as exhibitions, concerts, processions and others. Precisely because of the richness and diversity of the festivity agenda, thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the country and northern Spain are expected in Braga.

Cachapuz, for the fourth consecutive year, joins this event as an official sponsor, seeing it as an invaluable asset to the religious sphere of the country and a key generator of the economic and social dynamics of the city of Braga. Such is its importance that “work is in process for the preparation of an application to UNESCO in order to gain international recognition” stated the Mayor of the city, Ricardo Rio, at the official press conference of the “Semana Santa” presentation.
