Head/Branch Office Communication

Head/Branch office communication allows the information of the branch offices to be centralised in the head office. Thus, the base information in the head office must prevail over that of the branch offices, while the weighing operations performed in branch offices must be imported to the head office so that a global and centralised analysis of all the information may be made.

The Head/Branch office mode of operation can be made in a completely manual or automated manner. The static information such as base and auxiliary tables must be exported from the head office to the branch offices, so that they are all consistent.
The weighing operations performed in branch offices are exported to the head office, which allows corrections to be made, bills to be compiled and overall data extracted.

If communication between the head office and branch office exists, information can be imported and exported automatically and whenever required. On the head office side of the process, the information just has to be imported/exported.

This solution is often deployed given that the majority of companies do not have a permanent network connection between head and branch offices. Thus, each branch office operates in a completely autonomous manner, with points of interconnection to permit the import/export of information.

If a permanent connection exists and the creation of a central database preferred, then the branch offices are dependent on the connection to the head office, and without this connection they cannot operate.

Advantages:

  • Centralisation of all information
  • Consistent base information
  • Corrections at head office level
  • Use of inconsistencies filter to detect anomalies/errors
  • Centralised billing
  • Automation of the process, meaning that the branch offices do not require an operator with in-depth knowledge
  • The head office controls the exchange of information
  • Extraction of overall information or by branch office
