Cachapuz, aware of the vital importance of the information, communication and electronic technologies to the range of solutions provided by the Bilanciai Group, possesses an Engineering and Innovation Department, which focuses on the development of innovative solutions using the latest information and automation technologies for the automation of processes for the industrial sector.
This department contains a team of higher education-trained engineers specialised in a wide range of areas and highly qualified for the development of software and automation solutions. The department also provides a marketing-research and consultancy role, identifying and comprehending the needs of the market and clients with the end purpose of continuously adding to and upgrading the technological offer.
The department contains a permanent R&D nucleus with the exclusive objective of studying, in cooperation with Minho University, emerging technologies and protocols that may increase the potential for development of the company’s solutions, particularly in the areas of Business Intelligence and Systems Integration.
As a result of the work carried out by its Engineering and Innovation Department, together with Minho University and six companies from the information and communication technologies field Cachapuz has set up the Minho ICT Pole of Competitiveness. This is an initiative of COTEC Portugal under the strategy to “create locally-identified innovation nuclei that deserve to be strengthened and galvanised”.
The continuous investment in R&D and consequent innovation capacity recently reaped further reward as COTEC Portugal – Associação Empresarial para a Inovação awarded the title of Innovative SME to Cachapuz.
